yeast, plum, cakeOne of the traditional polish cakes, easy to prepare, and rewarding with amazing smell and even better taste.

Recipe by Tomasz from Chicago


500 g of flour
30 g of fresh yeast
250 ml of milk
40 g of butter
1 egg
1 kg of plums


350 g of flour
200 g of sugar
200 g of butter

Add crumbled yeast and sugar into warm milk, stir until all ingredients have combined.  Pour the mixture into bowl with flour, cover and leave for 30 minutes.

Add melted butter, egg and knead until dough is smooth. Cover and leave for another 30 minutes, until dough doubles.

Move dough into large baking tray and distribute evenly. Cut plums in quarters and arrange evenly on dough.

Prepare crumble by mixing flour, sugar and cold butter, sprinkle over the dough. Leave to rise for around 30 minutes, then bake in 180oC hot oven for about 45 minutes.
