  • 500 g of flour
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 200 g butter
  • Vanilla flavour (sugar)
  • 80 g of yeast
  • Fried orange peel, diced
  • 1.5 cups of warm milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of vodka
  • jam
  • Icing sugar
  • oil for deep frying

To the 1/2 cup of milk add 1 tablespoon of flour, teaspoon of sugar and yeast and mix well, cover and leave in a warm place.

To the egg yolks add sugar, and half of vanilla sugar, mix until white, creamy mass.

When yeast grows add it to the flour, together with previously prepared egg yolks mass. Mix with your fingers and keep adding warm milk until cake is soft, and elastic.

When dough starts to separate from bowl add warm butter and knead until dough comes off from hand. Add orange zest and vodka and leave in the warm place to rise.

When dough doubles form small pancakes fill with jam, close cake and form rounded donuts. Leave to rise for another 20 minutes.

Deep fry donuts in hot oil, from both sides, until golden brown. When fried donuts cool down, cover with icing sugar.
